Business Development Representative
We’re looking for a friendly, approachable, curious person to join our expanding Asia-Pacific operation as a Business Development Representative, responsible for generating new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling and email campaigns. If you’re outgoing, great with people, and just the right amount of stubborn, we probably want to hear from you.
What is Delib?
Delib’s mission is to:
1: Make democratic processes easier to run for governments, and;
2. Improve access to democracy for citizens.
We believe in a world in which citizens have a direct impact on decisions made by democratic leadership. We want these decisions to be open, transparent and collaborative.
We do this by making engagement software and selling it to governments.
Democratic engagement often is difficult to access and puts a huge burden of work on citizens, discouraging them from participating. By using our platforms, it’s much easier for the public to take part, and governments get better response data, which leads to better, more informed decisions.
What’s the job?
Your role will be to identify, contact, and build relationships with potential customers, with the ultimate aim of getting them booked in for a product demonstration with one of our Account Executives (AEs).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct outbound prospecting and lead generation, including cold calling and email campaigns, to identify potential clients who have a need for our software.
Qualify and categorise leads by assessing their interest, budget, timeline, and decision-making process.
Schedule appointments and demos for our AEs to present our software to potential clients and their teams.
Collaborate with other BDRs to ensure a steady flow of well-qualified leads.
Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and pain points, and positioning our product as a valuable asset to their organisation.
Who are you?
This is an ideal role for someone looking to take the next step in their sales career in the technology industry. You’re curious, good with people and interested in the work we do and the wider tech-for-good area.
Hiring for this role is based on skill and interest, not education, and we’d like to hear from you if you meet some of the following criteria:-
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in a BDR or similar role in the software or technology industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas/targets.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Note: We value diversity and welcome applicants from all backgrounds to apply. We encourage applications from those who feel locked out of traditional routes into the digital industry.
Location
Fully remote position anywhere in New Zealand.
You do need to be able to travel from time to time for work. We like seeing each other when we can and when it fits with our varied schedules.
Delib will provide all the tools necessary to set up the right candidate on successful hire, including (but not limited to) a Delib-provided laptop for completing work, and an allowance for setting up a suitable workspace at home if applicable.
Salary and Role
This is a permanent role, advertised on a full-time basis with some flexibility for the right candidate.
We're offering $70,000-80,000 initially. There is room to grow the salary by taking on responsibility and gaining experience and we regularly review salaries in line with how people are doing.
